Square Enix has announced that Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II will release for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1. It will release both physically and digitally, however, no upgrade path or save data transfer will be available for original Switch members.
The new versions of Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II will offer improved resolution and framerate. Pre-orders are currently unavailable, however, each will cost $59.99. There will also be a bundle available for $74.99. It has also not yet revealed if the physical versions will release as a Game-Key Card. In Japan, the new versions of both games are available now. Octopath Traveler 0, the most recent entry in the series, alongside the original game and Octopath Traveler II, is available now for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Octopath Traveler 0 free demo is available now with save data transfers over to the full game. The Standard Edition costs $49.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $59.99. Recently, the entire Octopath Traveler franchise reached over 7 million copies sold.
