PlaySide has released a new major update for MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, which adds VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), a Level Revisit feature, and more. The update is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the update adds the Level Revisit feature, which provides the ability to replay previously completed levels, allowing players to grab any missing collectibles and finish incomplete side quests. It also features Uncapped Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), performance optimizations throughout the game, full support for ultrawide (21:9) and super ultrawide (32:9) monitors on PC, enhancements to the Weapon Wheel, horizontal axis inversion, and improvements to both settings menu navigation and controller rebinding. Issues regarding weapons, combat, UI, menus, questing, and performance have also been resolved, alongside several bug fixes.
The Switch 2 update also adds VRR and the Level Revisit feature. Further, it features performance optimizations (including a brand-new “Balanced” graphics mode with 40 FPS framerate), new quality-of-life adjustments, and bug fixes. PlaySide is planning another Nintendo Switch 2 update in the future, which will add more quality of life enhancements and bug fixes.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is available now for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will launch later on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. We had the opportunity to review the game prior to its launch. We gave it a 4.5/5 and described it as follows: “With a simple yet effective progression system, a power fantasy combat loop, and passionate attention to detail, Mouse P.I. For Hire is easily one of the best titles of 2026. It reminds me of just how much joy a single-player first-person shooter can bring when it fires on all cylinders.”
