Akatsuki Games, TOHO CO., and Production I.G have released a new update for KAIJU No. 8 THE GAME, which adds new 5-star character [The Resurgent Commander] Sagan Shinomiya. It also adds a new special event, titled [Patchwork Bonds].

Sagan is in a prototype suit from the early days of CLOZER. She is able to enhance her team thanks to the suit’s abilities. Alongside her debut is a new event, which will reward players who participate with 1,500 dimensional crystals. A press release describes it as follows:

The secret anti-Dimensional Kaiju special unit, CLOZER, has been assembled. Appointed as its captain, Sagan Shinomiya receives a directive from Director General Shinomiya himself: to evaluate the true character of her new subordinates—a squad of global elites who are far from conventional.

Her squad features: a former spec-ops soldier discharged for insubordination; a mysterious beauty with shady connections; a mad scientist harboring dangerous ideals; and an elusive, enigmatic girl from a private military company. Faced with a team of unruly mavericks whose overpowering personalities constantly clash, Sagan struggles to find her footing as a leader.

How will this unconventional unit forge an unbreakable bond? Discover the definitive origin story of Sagan Shinomiya and the CLOZER members in this special event!

KAIJU NO. 8: THE GAME is available now for Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. Currently, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is streaming with English dubs and subs on Crunchyroll. A “conclusion arc” anime adaptation and a new “Narumi’s Weekday” short are also in the works, and planned to release at a later date.
