Netmarble has released a new update for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, which adds a new hero by the name of Merlin. The update also adds a new continuation to the story, new events, a new dungeon, and more.

Merlin is a member of the Seven Deadly Sins who bears the mark of the Boar Sin of Gluttony. She posesses vast knowledge while endlessly pursuing truth and joins the roster as a versatile battlemage who can use Grimoire, Wand, and Staff as weapons. Players can experience different combat styles, depending on which weapon they chose. For example, when equipped with Grimoire, Merlin acts as a main damage dealer utilizing the Frost Mark effect. With Staff, she can summon clones to activate Buster skills more reliably.

The update also expands the story with Act 14, “The Snare of Time,” and also adds a new region titled “Sealed Sanctuary.” Further, it adds a new raid dungeon titled “Taranis’s Sanctuary,” alongside several events. These include a check-in event, which offers Special Mastery EXP, Hero Pick Up Draw Tickets, Brilliant Engraving Seal, and 100 star fragments every day for two weeks. You can also use the event to earn an exclusive Grimoire for Merlin, titled “Sacred Treasure: Morning Star Aldan.”

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is available now for Android, iOS, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Google Play Games. Final Weapon had the opportunity to interview The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin executive producer Do-Hyung Koo to discuss the game’s development, the team’s initial goals, consultation with manga creator Nakaba Suzuki and more. We also had the chance to play an early build of The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin to see what the original story and combat system offered.
