Marathon Season 2 Available Now, Overview Trailer Released

Night Marsh, the new Sentinel shell, a new season pass, the Cradle system, and more await.

Bungie has released an overview trailer for Marathon season 2, which is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The season adds the new Night Marsh zone, a new runner named Sentinel, and more. 

The full list of new inclusions in Marathon season 2 are as follows:

  • New Zone: Night Marsh
    • New Mechanics
    • New Combatants
    • New Area: Upper Complex
  • Night Vision Tools
    • Flashlight
    • Signal Flares
    • Vector Grenade
    • Darksight Scope
    • Vector Rounds
  • New Sentinel Shell
    • A defensive shell that can use abilities to fire grenades out of the air and harness greater defense against explosives and close-combat encounters. He also utilizes a snare mine and the ability to track nearby enemies. 
  • New Weapons
    • DS4 Battle Pistol
    • KKV-9SD Pistol-Frame SMG
  • New Equipment
    • Frost Mine
  • Cradle System
    • Adjust and increase individual Runner stats, such as strength, recharge, dexterity, support, and resistance. 
  • Vault Size Increased
  • Faster Faction Progression
  • Highest-Complexity Contracts Streamlined
  • Reduced Upgrade Salvage Requirements
  • Reach VIP Levels Through Average Levels of Play

Lastly, Marathon is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. More seasons are planned, and promise to add some of the following adjustments:

  • Making the game less grindy, more rewarding. 
  • Improvements to UI/UX, matchmaking, end game meta, playing as solos/duos, etc.
  • New fun and mind-bending content: new and updated zones, Runner shells, new combatants, weapons, loot, and more.
  • More engaging progression.
  • Pure PVP, PVE, and PVP-lite experiences.
  • Further experimental queues support.
  • Duos for Season 2 with a rotating Duos queue.
  • PVE and PVP-Lite mode experiments in season 2.
  • Expanding the max size of your Vault and increasing faction progression rates in Season 2.
