During EVO Japan 2026, Bandai Namco announced that Tekken 8 Season 3 DLC character Kunimitsu will launch on May 27 in early access for Season 3 Character Pass owners. Kunimitsu will be available separately for purchase for all Tekken 8 players on June 1, and a new update is expected to roll out with Kunimitsu’s release.
Bandai Namco recently released Tekken 8 update 3.00.02, which fixes unintended behaviors and brings adjustments to Heat Dash combo starters and Heat-related moves. Tekken 8 update 3.00.02 is described as an “emergency update” ahead of a larger battle balance-focused update coming in late May 2026, but the update does bring some character nerfs and buffs as well.
Tekken 8 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Season 3 Character Pass will bring Bob in summer, Roger Jr. in autumn, and a mysterious character and stage in winter. The last DLC character for Season 3 will be revealed at Combo Breaker on May 24.
Final Weapon previously reviewed Tekken 8 ahead of launch, noting that the game is “a perfect fighting game that hits almost all the important spots. The story mode is arguably the best in the franchise, having fantastic CGI cutscenes, emotional moments, and cool fights. The combat system is very strategic and forces players to use their resources wisely.”
