Blizzard has announced that Overwatch is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on April 14 alongside the launch of Season 2 “Summit” and the LE SSERAFIM collaboration. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Overwatch features improved visuals, higher fidelity audio, and 60 FPS in both docked and handheld modes.

“Take the fight with you as Overwatch arrives on Nintendo Switch 2,” Blizzard said in its official blog post. “Better visuals, higher fidelity audio, and up to 60 FPS in both docked and handheld mode make this a much stronger way to experience the game on your Nintendo Switch 2. It’s a cleaner, crisper, portable version of Overwatch that still lets you play with your friends wherever you are.”

Overwatch Season 2 “Summit” includes the following content:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 version launch
  • LE SSERAFIM collaboration
  • Operation: Grand Mesa Hero Event
  • Antarctic Peninsula rework
  • Post-Match Accolades
  • Mythic Skins
  • New Hero Ramattra
  • Lijiang Night Market Control map
  • Juno rework
  • New Hero: Jetpack Cat (midseason)
  • Perks mini refresh
  • 10th Anniversary (midseason)
  • Starter Pack
  • Ultimate Battle Pass Skins
  • Fairy Theme Battle Pass

Overwatch 2 initially released in 2022 as a free-to-play sequel to the 2016 hero shooter. While the game was supposed to release a full PvE campaign, Blizzard cancelled the narrative component in 2024. Instead, the game has received collaborations with media properties such as DiabloCowboy Bebop, Transformers, Gundam Wing, Street Fighter 6, and most recently, NieR: Automata. The game was rebranded to its original Overwatch title on February 10 with the launch of Season 1 “Reign of Talon.”
