Koshi Nakanishi, director of Resident Evil Requiem, has announced in a new video that a DLC story expansion for the game is in development. Further updates for the game will also release in the coming months.

In the video, Nakanishi thanks fans for their support after the game sold 5 million copies in just five days, making it the fastest selling entry in the franchise. He also confirms that future updates will add photo mode and a “mini-game,” with the latter being available in May. While details for the mini-game are scarce, it’s possible that it will continue the tradition of the beloved Mercenaries mode releasing in an update after the launch of a major Resident Evil game.

Finally, he officially confirms that a DLC expansion will release that “will delve deeper into the world of Requiem.” The release date for the expansion is unknown, though Nakanishi notes that it will “take some time.” Check out the video which outlines the future of Resident Evil Requiem below:

Resident Evil Requiem launched on February 27 for PlayStation 5Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. A Deluxe Edition is available with the Standard Edition ($69.99), alongside a Premium Steelbook Edition ($89.99). A special edition Resident Evil Requiem Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller ($99.99) with designs from the game and a gunmetal-black finish are also available via Nintendo.

Lastly, fans can purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Resident Evil biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which launched the same day as Resident Evil Requiem. A Resident Evil Generation Pack bundle, exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, includes all three games and can be purchased on the Nintendo eShop.
