Epic Games has announced that new items based on Cyberpunk 2077 will be available in Fortnite at a later date. The contents of the collaboration are currently unknown.
Previously, Fortnite featured cosmetics based on Johnny Silverhand and female V, the two protagonists of Cyberpunk 2077. While neither Epic Games or CD Projekt Red have revealed further details about the collaboration, the first trailer for it features an Arasaka logo from the background. Judging by a post from CDPR stating that new content is “smashing” into Fortnite, it’s likely that the game will highlight Adam Smasher, the infamous antagonist from Cyberpunk 2077.
Check out the trailer teasing the new collaboration between Fortnite and Cyberpunk 2077 below:
CDPR initially released Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020. The game is available now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion are available exclusively on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Both the base game and DLC will be available on Mac devices. Critics initially criticized it for its rushed release, game-breaking glitches, and failure to stay true to the game’s initial promise.
However, the Phantom Liberty expansion and numerous post-launch patches have completely overhauled the game’s mechanics and brought it closer to the game’s initial promise. Additionally, Netflix will be making a new anime series in collaboration with CDPR based on the Cyberpunk universe. A sequel for the game, which currently goes by the codename “Project Orion,” is also in development.
Lastly, Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, Android, and PC.
