Dispatch has arrived on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 today, but unfortunately, players have discovered that the Nintendo eShop release is censored compared to the PS5 and PC versions. In previous versions of Dispatch, a Visual Censorship toggle was available, allowing players to enable or disable censorship on certain explicit scenes. The Switch & Switch 2 versions remove this setting entirely, effectively making it mandatory for players.
This decision was made in response to Nintendo’s platform requirements. AdHoc Studio shared the following in a statement with Eurogamer: “We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms, but the core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical to the original release.”
In our 4.5/5 review, we wrote: “Dispatch takes the foundation built by Telltale Games and runs with it, creating one of the best games in the genre and one of the best titles released this year. The incredible cast of characters, brought to life by great writing, a beautiful art style, and a fantastic team of voice actors, is so charming and lovable. Even if the gameplay is kind of lacking, the dispatching mini-games and emphasis on player and dialogue choice are so much fun to engage with. In a time when the superhero genre is more oversaturated than ever, Dispatch manages to go above and beyond, delivering an unforgettable experience.”
