Capcom and Niantic have announced that a new update for Monster Hunter Now will release on January 19 and add the Riftborne Diablos monster. The update will launch alongside a new event that highlights the monster.
When the new update releases, style selection for the Heavy Bowgun will also be available. During the event, Diablos and other large monsters will appear more frequently. Additionally, event effects will make it even easier for players to gather monster materials. They can also style customize weapons forged from Diablos materials. The event will continue until January 25.
The following monsters will be present during the event, according to the Monster Hunter Now website:
- Diablos (including Riftborne)
- Brute Tigrex
- Goss Harag
- Quematrice
- Lunagaron
- Deviljho (including Riftborne)
- The Kushala Daora Elder Dragon
Limited-time quests will be available where players can get rewards for slaying Diablos and Goss Harag, and slaying or repelling Kushala Daora. A Heavy Bowgun style quest will also be playable. Further, the website outlines the event effects:

- Receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards.
- Chance of receiving 10 additional Rarity 1 materials from the slain monster.
- More rewards for Elder Dragon Interceptions
- Receive two of each material in the first to fourth slots of basic rewards.
- More rewards for group hunts
- Guaranteed second slot of monster materials for group hunt rewards.
- More rewards for Hunt-a-thons
Lastly, Monster Hunter Now is available now for Android and iOS. The next update, featuring Riftborne Diablos, will release alongside a new event on January 19.
