Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour have announced a new game, titled Virtue and a Sledgehammer, which Devolver Digital will publish. The game, announced during Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition 2025, is available now to wishlist on PC via Steam.
Deconstructeam is primarily known for its work on The Red Strings Club. The developers describe it as a “game about realizing you don’t belong in the place you grew up anymore. At its heart, it’s a narrative experience. We explore this idea in an exaggerated way, with robots and a sledgehammer, all set up in a creepy ghost town.” You will break apart your hometown with realistic destruction physics, as you uncover memories from the past. The game also features smaller moments focused primarily on building the narrative.

The Steam page describes the game as follows:
Most people resort to therapy. But you chose the brave option. A sledgehammer.
In Virtue and a Sledgehammer, explore the remains of your hometown haunted by the android ghosts of your digitized neighbors. There won’t always be a clear path, so create your own by knocking down any structures that stand in your way.
It will be a painful journey, not only because of the assault from the robots that have taken over life in the mountains, but because of the memories you’ll unearth—sometimes warm, but often traumatic—as you destroy the remnants of your childhood.
A game about family, traditions, and being a misfit.
