Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 1 Now Available For Free

2K Games has announced that Bounty Pack 1 of Borderlands 4, titled “How Rush Saved Mercenary Day,” is now available for free. The DLC pack initially released on November 20. 

In a statement on the official 2K website, Gearbox explains the DLC and the reason for the offer: “Players can now team up with Rush, the affable leader of the Outbounders, to take down the miserly Minister Screw and bring festive cheer to the people of Kairos. As a holiday-themed Bounty Pack, it was important that players receive it by the end of the year. However, with the continued efforts to improve the Borderlands 4 experience, the team ran out of time to stuff as much mayhem-fueled content into the Bounty Pack 1 stocking as originally planned.

So in the spirit of the season, and as a thank you to the community for their passion and support, 2K and Gearbox are excited to provide Bounty Pack 1, launching at 9:00 AM PT, to all Borderlands 4 players for free!”

Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 1 adds new “bite-sized-yet-flavorful narrative content to Kairos” with new gear and cosmetics. This includes a new Vault Card that lets players unlock additional loot through gameplay. Afterward, the Borderlands 4 DLC Vault Hunter C4SH will launch in Q1 2026. Alongside it, the new Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned will release. C4SH is the first of various DLC Vault Hunters that will release next year. 

Borderlands 4 launched first on September 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch 2 version was planned for release on October 3, but Gearbox Software delayed the release for “additional development and polish time,” and all digital pre-orders in the Nintendo eShop to date have been canceled.
