In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball, the franchise has opened its first-ever Dragon Ball The One Worldwide Character Popularity Poll. Fans can vote on 212 characters at the official website over the course of four stages, with the first stage being open until November 24. The total number of characters will be cut down to 80 once the first stage is over.

Fans can vote once per day during each round of the Dragon Ball The One Worldwide Character Popularity Poll. At the end of each round, the franchise’s official X (formerly Twitter) accounts will hold 24-hour polls to bring back one eliminated character. The final rankings will be revealed on YouTube on January 24, 2026, just one day before the “Dragon Ball GENKIDAMATSURI” event.

The Dragon Ball GENKIDAMATSURI event will be held on January 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. JST to 6:30 p.m. JST at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. During the event, Bandai Namco, Toei Animation, and Shueisha will make major announcements regarding the long-running franchise.

A special “Genkida Stage” panel will be held featuring Masako Nozawa, the iconic voice of Goku, and it will be where some of the big announcements will take place. In fact, Bandai Namco has already confirmed that a new Dragon Ball game project will be revealed at Dragon Ball GENKIDAMATSURI.

Before a new anime announcement possibly happens, fans can catch up on all 20 episodes of the Dragon Ball Daima anime series, which are streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix with English subs and dubs. Lastly, the English dub for the anime is streaming in North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
