SEGA and Rovio has announced that 32-player battle royale game Sonic Rumble surpassed 15 million players worldwide shortly after the game’s global launch. To celebrate, all Sonic Rumble players will have access to a limited-time event soon, and there will be various in-game improvements that will be made over time.
A special in-game 15M Rumbler Milestone Mission will run from November 18 until December 17. During the event, Sonic Rumble players can earn various rewards for free, including Skill Stars, Tune-Up Wrenches, a total of 300 Red Star Rings, and much more.
The Sonic Rumble development team is committed to making major player-driven improvements to the game. These improvements include making items like skins and Red Star Rings easier to obtain, making the shop and in-game content more accessible, and revising the game interface and tutorial to bring more clarity on game functions and correct the pay-to-win misconception (players believing item purchases are necessary to win matches). Full details can be read at SEGA’s blog post.
Sonic Rumble is available now for Android via Google Play, iOS via App Store, and PC via Steam worldwide. Before launch, Sonic Rumble accrued 10 million “early Rumblers,” which include total pre-registrations and pre-downloads. To celebrate, all players received the 10M Early Rumbler Chao as a free reward in their in-game mailbox.
Before launch, SEGA and Rovio released the version 1.4.0 update for Sonic Rumble. Sonic Rumble update 1.4.0 adds new Space Colony ARK stages, Biolizard Co-op Battle (November 20), Master Emerald League, and Rumble Plus upgrades.
