Nintendo announced a new free update for Pikmin 4 is scheduled to launch in November with new content, including Decor Pikmin, a new in-game Field Camera feature, and new Creature Activity Levels. Among the additions, Decor Pikmin were previously seen in the Pikmin Bloom mobile game for Android and iOS.
In Pikmin 4, players can gather Decor Pikmin and transfer them to Pikmin Bloom after the update releases. Decor Pikmin usually include some sort of decoration, such as a wind-up toy or doughnut. Players will be able to take photos with their character, squad, and Decor Pikmin with the Field Camera feature. Set various angles, hide characters, and decorate with filters, frames and stamps to personalize the photo and add more Decor Pikmin to the crew. Lastly, the update brings new Creature Activity levels, including the difficulty Fierce Mode and the easy Relaxed Mode where encounters are only started by attacking first.
In Pikmin 4, players may embark on a grand new journey, gather Pikmin, defeat tough bosses, and explore vast areas. Each Pikmin has its specific use, so players must make note of how Pikmin may help traversal or target enemy weaknesses. Dependable dog and loyal partner Oatchi may also help the player and Pikmin on their adventure. The Pikmin 4 launch trailer highlights some of the features and gameplay fans can expect before diving into the game themselves.
Pikmin 4 is now available for Nintendo Switch worldwide, and the game is backwards compatible on Nintendo Switch 2. Patch notes for the new update are expected to be released soon, so stay tuned.
