Warner Bros. has released a featurette for the upcoming Mortal Kombat II film, set to release in theaters on May 15, 2026. Additionally, New Line is already planning to make a sequel, with Jeremy Slater set to return as screenwriter.
The featurette shows some behind-the-scenes footage of the upcoming film, as well as some interviews with some members of the cast. It also reveals new footage for the movie, including some fight scenes between Johnny Cage and Baraka. Check out the featurette for Mortal Kombat II below:

The release date and story for Mortal Kombat III are currently unknown. However, according to Deadline, alongside Jeremy Slater returning as screenwriter, Todd Garner will return to produce the sequel. More details about the sequel will likely release after Mortal Kombat II debuts in theaters on May 15, 2026.
Recently, Digital Eclipse announced its latest collection, the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. The game will release later on October 30 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. The collection will include a documentary which focuses on the history of the franchise and how it came to be, as well as multiple games from the series’ past.
