Koei Tecmo and Omega Force confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Dynasty Warriors: Origins runs at a stable 30 FPS. According to producer Tomohiko Sho, Dynasty Warriors: Origins could have reached 60 FPS on Switch 2, but it would have required a reduction of the number of overall soldiers on screen to “the same amount as prior Warriors series entries,” so the team opted for a stable 30 FPS instead.
“The Switch 2 version will be fixed to 30 fps, and we are developing it with a priority on stable operations,” Tomohiko Sho told Famitsu. “It’s good hardware, and if we reduced the number of soldiers to about the same amount as prior Warriors series entries, we could have gotten it running at 60 fps. Since this game will show a few thousands of characters, I think it would be better if you can play here with a stable 30 fps.”
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Dynasty Warriors: Origins and all-new DLC will launch January 22, 2026. Final Weapon’s 4/5 review of Dynasty Warriors: Origins notes that the game is “a great time, acting as an excellent entry point for newcomers and a treat for series veterans as well.”
Warriors: Abyss is getting new paid Dynasty Warriors: Origins collaboration DLC, but a release date for the new DLC was not confirmed yet. Warriors: Abyss is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
