Nintendo announced a Nintendo Direct will be held on September 12 at 6:00 a.m. PDT / 9:00 a.m. EDT featuring roughly 60 minutes of new information about upcoming Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games. The September 12 Nintendo Direct is expected to bring updates on Metroid Prime 4, The Duskbloods, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, and other upcoming titles, and the event will be livestreamed on YouTube and the Nintendo Today! app.
The Nintendo Direct comes after weeks of speculation following a dedicated Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct on August 19, hosted by Masahiro Sakurai. During the Direct, Sakurai announced that Kirby Air Riders will release on November 20 for Nintendo Switch 2.
Kirby Air Riders was officially revealed during the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation on April 2. Directed by Masahiro Sakurai, this game follows the original Kirby Air Ride released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2003. Moreover, Kirby Air Riders is planned to release in 2025 for Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo released Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World on August 28 for Nintendo Switch 2. The game can be purchased directly on Nintendo Switch 2, and players who own Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Nintendo Switch can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition version for a fee.
