The official website for the “light anime” adaptation of Akira Iwafune’s Potion, Waga Mi wo Tasukeru (Potions Will Save Me) novel series released a teaser trailer. The trailer revealed that the anime will premiere on October 2.

The cast of the Potion, Waga Mi wo Tasukeru anime includes:
- Kaede Hondo as Kaede
- Takeo Ōtsuka as Asuru
Mikiko Furukawa directs the anime at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio. Studio KAIBA is assisting with animation, Yūichi Imaizumi is the sound director, Bermei Inazawa is the music composer, and Kazuya Takahashi is supervising the anime’s production.
Iwafune first launched Potion, Waga Mi wo Tasukeru on the Let’s Become a Novelist website from April 2014 to September 2024. Shufunotomo published the first novel volume in print, featuring illustrations by Yoshi Tobe, in 2015. Ten volumes have been released to date, and Tobe is also in charge of the manga adaptation.

Kaede, an ordinary high school girl, wakes up in an unfamiliar alleyway. It is a mysterious other filled with beastmen, elves, and dragons. Kaede noticed an unfamiliar book in the backpack she was carrying. It was a mysterious book that could create potions simply by chanting the word “creation”! For Kaede, who had been thrust into this other world, the potions she created became the sustenance that supported her life. While hoping to one day return to Japan, her struggles in this other world continue.
