Japanese retailer Hobonichi has announced that a livestream dedicated to the 31st anniversary of Earthbound (also known as Mother 2) will take place on August 27. The stream will focus on “Mother no Katachi,” which is likely an expansion to the Mother museum exhibit.

Hobonichi will host the stream on their YouTube channel. It will take place at the Shibuya PARCO 8F and will feature Shigesato Itoi. It is highly unlikely that there will be any news pertaining to the future of the Mother franchise. Check out the anniversary livestream for Earthbound below when it airs later today at 7:15 AM EDT:

Last year, Earthbound celebrated its 30th anniversary. The celebrations included new merchandise, a new type of event, a collaboration, and “a measuring stick.” Later that year, Mother 3 was released for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service exclusively in Japan. It is unknown if or when the Game Boy Advance cult classic will ever make the jump to the West.

Lastly, both EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings are available now for Nintendo Switch with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Here’s an overview of the EarthBound games, via Nintendo:

Join Ness, Paula, Jeff and Poo in their quest to fulfill an age-old prophecy to stop the wicked Giygas (and maybe catch a Runaway Five concert along the way) in the fan-favorite Super NES classic EarthBound. In addition, travel back to 198X for EarthBound Beginnings, a localized version of the original Famicom Mother game. Both EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings are playable with a Nintendo Switch Online membership!
