AnimEigo has announced that it has acquired the distribution rights to A Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose and will release it on Blu-ray in 2026. The film initially released in 1983.
The fantasy adventure feature film is based on a manga by legendary creator Osamu Tezuka. Many consider him as the “Godfather of Manga,” as he has revolutionized the Japanese manga and anime industries. Specifically, he has created beloved charcters, pioneered storytelling techniques and created more than 700 manga works and 500 anime episodes. This includes the likes of Astro Boy.
Early pre-orders are available now for the A Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose Blu-ray. It will include English Dub Outtakes, English Cast Interviews, Staff Commentary, Trailers, and Pre-production Sketches from Tezuka Productions. This anime was part of the charity event 24-Hour Television: Love Saves the Earth. The original work of the same name was serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from July 1982 to June 1983. However, at the time the anime project was proposed, the manga had not yet finished, so a new synopsis was written specifically for the film.
