The staff of the Anne Shirley anime has confirmed new cast members for the series’ next arc, which will start on July 19. The next arc of Anne Shirley is titled the “Redmond College arc.”
The new cast members of the “Redmond College arc” of Anne Shirley includes Chika Anzai as Philippa Gordon and Tokuyoshi Kawashima as Royal “Roy” Gardner. The rest of the cast features Honoka Inoue as Anne Shirley, Aya Nakamura as Marilla Cuthbert, Yasunori Matsumoto as Matthew Cuthbert, Naoya Miyase as Gilbert Blythe, and Yume Miyamoto as Diana Barry.
Anne Shirley initially premiered on April 5 and is available to watch now on Crunchyroll. Kadokawa also released a manga adaptation on January 5 in its B’s-LOG COMIC magazine. Both the anime and the manga adapt Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables novel series. Montgomery initially wrote the novel in 1908.

Eleven-year-old orphan Anne Shirley has spent her life moving from one family to another, always hoping to find a place where she truly belongs. When she is sent to live with elderly siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert at Green Gables, a quiet farm in the town of Avonlea, it is quickly revealed that she is there by mistake. Having expected a boy able to help out with farm work, the Cuthberts are surprised to instead receive a young girl with a vivid imagination and a flair for the dramatic.
