The official website for the Starwing Paradox prequel anime film, As One, revealed the theme song “Meguriboshi (Wandering Star)” by RUKI (Ruki Shiroiwa from boy band JO1) alongside a new trailer. A new key visual for As One was also revealed.

The As One film is set to premiere in Japan on August 22.
The cast members include:
- Ruki Shiroiwa as Yo
- Haruka Shiraishi as Rako
- Shunsuke Takeuchi as Vigo
- Ryuhei Maruyama as Rurowa
- Yoko Hikasa as Kizana
Kobun Shizuno is directing the anime, with Honoo and Studio GOONEYS animating the film. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto is handling the character design, while Shatner Nishida, Kana Matsui, and Masaya Honda work as scriptwriters.
The Starwing Paradox sci-fi game was first released in 2018 by Square Enix and remained active till October 2021. The game’s main selling point was its highly immersive experience, which allowed up to 16 players to participate simultaneously.

The movie follows Yo, a high school student in modern-day Japan who dreams of becoming a musician but struggles with family opposition and conflicts within his band. One day, while walking through Shibuya, he hears a desperate voice calling for help, and a blinding white light engulfs him.
Meanwhile, far across the cosmos, the celestial body Meguriboshi is on the brink of war over the energy source known as “Hoshichi” (Star Blood). Just as a ceasefire is about to be negotiated between the warring nations, a massive orbital debris field descends, threatening disaster.
Laco, a young mechanic, rushes to aid the planet’s defense force but finds herself in grave danger. As she falls into unconsciousness, her mind connects with You’s, marking the beginning of their intertwined fates.
