The July issue of Shogakukan’s Sunday GX Magazine has announced that the Black Lagoon manga will return with a new issue on July 18. The latest issue released seven months ago, back in December 2024.
The manga, written by Rei Hiroe, started in 2002. Viz Media has been publishing the manga in North America, with the most recent volume launching in December 2024. Additionally, an anime adaptation is available to watch on Crunchyroll. The new issue of the Black Lagoon manga, releasing on July 18, will feature on the cover of Sunday GX Magazine. There will also be a color opening page.

Salaryman Rokurou Okajima spends his days trying to climb his company’s corporate ladder, until one day when a business negotiation in Thailand goes awry. During the botched deal, he falls hostage to the Lagoon Company—a band of ruthless pirate mercenaries. Left to the whims of his captors after his managers refuse to pay his ransom, Rokurou does the unthinkable: instead of begging for his life, he joins the very crew who kidnapped him.
Now a member of the group, Rokurou must adjust to his new residence in the dissolute hellscape known as Roanapur, a city where corruption and crime run rampant, and even the smallest slipup could cost him his life.
