Konami and Bloober Team announced a Silent Hill remake is now in development. Silent Hill remake is the second project to be developed between the two companies, which was initially announced back in February 2025.
The next game in the series, Silent Hill f, will launch on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows. Silent Hill f features a completely new story set during 1960’s Japan. The secluded town of Ebisugaoka is enveloped in a strange fog, turning protagonist Hinako Shimizu’s home into a nightmare. Silent Hill 2 producer Motoi Okamoto is leading the new project alongside Ryukishi07, the creator of the Higurashi: When They Cry series. Akira Yamaoka returns as a composer alongside Kensuke Inage, and kera is the character and creature designer.
Konami will host the official “Konami Presents: Unmasking Silent Hill f Panel” on July 4 at 3:15 p.m. PDT / 6:15 p.m. EDT during Anime Expo 2025. The panel will be hosted in the at the JW Marriott Platinum Ballroom in the Los Angeles Convention Center. Silent Hill f producer Motoi Okamoto, scriptwriter Ryukishi07, and composer Akira Yamaoka will be present at the Anime Expo 2025 panel.
The latest entry in the series, Konami and Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2, was released on October 8, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam). Silent Hill 2 features third-person action similar to the likes of the recent Resident Evil games. It’s one of the highest rated games of 2024 on Metacritic at 86, and Final Weapon gave Silent Hill 2 a 4.5 out of 5 score. On January 23, Konami announced that Silent Hill 2 surpassed two million copies sold worldwide.
