Bloober Team announced that the company is continuing its collaboration with Konami to develop a new game based on a Konami-developed intellectual property. A new agreement has been signed by Konami and Bloober Team to proceed with development of the new game.
“Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself,” said Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno in a press release. “By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality production together. Of course, we can’t reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are. We can’t wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right.”
Previously, Konami announced Silent Hill 2 has surpassed two million copies sold worldwide as of January 23, 2025. The company shared the news of the game’s latest sales milestone on January 29. These sales account for digital copies sold on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam), along with physical shipments of Silent Hill 2 worldwide. Konami tracked the game’s sales internally based on “research.”
Silent Hill 2 initially released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001. The remake developed by Konami and Bloober Team was released on October 8, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Silent Hill 2 features third-person action similar to the likes of the recent Resident Evil games. Despite this, Silent Hill 2 received high critical acclaim, and it’s one of the highest rated games of the year on Metacritic at 86. Check out Final Weapon’s review of Silent Hill 2 here.
