Bandai Namco has released update 1.09 for Freedom Wars Remastered alongside a free demo for the game on all platforms. The demo includes the beginning of Freedom Wars Remastered up until the Level 2 stage, and save data from the demo cannot be carried over to the full game.
Freedom Wars Remastered update 1.09 addresses numerous bugs that were affecting the game and improves the game’s overall performance. Moreover, a new “Any” option has been added to rank settings in Vs. Operations.

Bug Fixes
- Game freezes when using Dragonfire and Nambu type weapons
- Fixed the bug causing the game to freeze when fighting with Dragonfire and Nambu type Portable Artillery.
- Cage destruction cutscene may be skipped when destroyed by severing
- Fixed the bug causing the destruction animation to skip when the bird cage trapping a citizen is severed with Light Melee or Flare Knife.
- Some Special Operations disappear from the Contributions Directory
- Fixed the bug preventing Special Operations XX300–310 from being displayed on the Contributions Directory after certain actions.
- Improved Game Stability
- Implemented measures to enhance the stability of the game’s performance.
Other bug fixes
- Fixed other miscellaneous bugs.
Specification Adjustments/Changes
- Added a new rank option in Vs. Operations
- Added an option “Any” to the rank settings in Vs. Operations, allowing players to match with opponents regardless of rank.
- Adjusted a parameter of some Phalanx-type variant weapons
- Expanded the range of magazine capacity bonus for the Phalanx-type variant Autocannons.
Lastly, Freedom Wars Remastered is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
