Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds collaboration DLC characters will be released on a monthly basis, according to a new interview with Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka at Famitsu. Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon, are among the first three DLC characters that will be released for free in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
According to Iizuka, SEGA wants Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds players to wonder what character will be added to the game. When asked if Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue could make a return, Iizuka stated that the “possibility is not zero.” Moreover, Iizuka confirmed that collaboration characters won’t have interactions with the base roster.
In addition to free DLC characters, there will be paid DLC characters, thanks to various editions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and the Season Pass. Sonic the Werehog from Sonic Unleashed is a pre-order bonus, and Steve, Alex, and the Creeper from Minecraft are other new additions with the Season Pass, for example. A total of six DLC packs will be released, and there will also be new courses and vehicles, so there’s a lot to look forward to.
