SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced new action game Project Century is now officially titled Stranger Than Heaven. A new trailer for Stranger Than Heaven was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025, and the initial trailer from The Game Awards 2024 was updated with the game’s new title and logo.
Previously, SEGA filed multiple trademarks for Project Century in December 2024. The first of the two Project Century trademarks is “Yashima Boueki Kaisha” (Japan Trade Company), which is the name of the company that appears on the protagonist’s jacket in the reveal trailer. The second trademark is for the logo of the company, which is also on the jacket.
The third and final trademark is “City of Wars,” which doesn’t appear in the initial reveal trailer. This could reference the 1915 Japanese urban setting of Project Century, but it’s unclear. It’s worth noting that platforms and a release date for the game were not announced, either.
RGG Studio plans to hold events and make several announcements leading up to the Yakuza / Like a Dragon 20th anniversary on December 8, 2025. In addition, RGG Studio is planning to sell various types of merchandise and content for Japan, Asia, and the west starting in 2025. One of the major releases celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary will be Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which launched on February 21, 2025.
Lastly, platforms and a release for Stranger Than Heaven were not announced.
