Capcom released the second trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword at Summer Game Fest 2025, showcasing more gameplay for the new title. More details about new characters such as Sasaki Ganryu, who wields an Oni Gauntlet, as well as scenes showcasing the nail-biting gameplay, will be revealed at a later date.

Onimusha is rooted in the Sengoku period, Japan’s legendary age of warring states. The games infuse history with Japanese folklore to tell tales of warriors who wield the mystical power of the Oni. These heroes are drawn into conflict with the Genma, relentless monsters hellbent on conquering the world.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword takes place in Kyoto during the early Edo period. In this time of relative peace for Japan, Malice has befallen the ancient city. Twisted into an eerie and unsettling place, Kyoto has been infested by the demonic Genma.
Lastly, Onimusha: Way of the Sword will release in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
