Drinkbox has showcased its next game, a 3D metroidvania called Blighted, which will release in 2026 for both consoles and PC. Additionally, footage for the game will release Day of the Devs 2025.
Drinkbox has previously worked on games like Guacamelee and Nobody Saves the World. Blighted will be its first 3D metroidvania and feature RPG mechanics and a world described as a “psychedelic western nightmare.” However, Drinkbox have not yet confirmed which consoles Blighted will release on when the game launches in 2026. In the past, the dead were buried with seeds planted in their brains. These seeds would grow into trees bearing fruit imbued with memories. Knowledge was passed down through the fruit of memory trees for generations.
