Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine confirmed that Shuichi Shigeno will launch the new Subaru and Subaru manga series in July. The manga serves as a sequel to Initial D and MF Ghost, following two characters named Subaru.
The Subaru and Subaru manga follows Subaru Satō, a young female driver who meets Initial D character Bunta, and Subaru Kudō, a young man who appears before MF Ghost characters Ogata and Aiba.
MF Ghost Season 3 will premiere in 2026. Like the first and second seasons of the anime, the third season will most likely air on Tokyo MX, BS11, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, Animax, TV Aichi, Shizuoka Broadcasting System, TV Setouchi, Tochigi TV, and YTV in Japan.
Serving as the sequel to Initial D, the MF Ghost manga by series creator Shuichi Shigeno entered serialization in September 2017 for Weekly Young Magazine. The series starred Kanata Livington, a Japanese-British 19-year-old trained by Initial D protagonist and legendary racer Takumi Fujiwara. Kanata aims to find his long-lost father, and the talented rookie must get behind the wheel like those before him.
