Ubisoft has confirmed that it will not hold its annual Ubisoft Forward showcase this year during Summer Game Fest 2025. Instead, the company will be present during IGN Live, PC Gaming Show, and Gamescom 2025 in August.
Over the last few years, Ubisoft has faced several financial issues that have led them to delay numerous unannounced games. While it recently released Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which was quite successful, its other franchises such as Prince of Persia, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and Far Cry have been left dormant. These circumstances combined is likely why Ubisoft will not hold a Ubisoft Forward during Summer Game Fest 2025.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is among one of the most successful releases by Ubisoft in recent memory. On March 20, the game reached one million players after just a few hours. The following day, the game would reach two million players around the world. A new story update for Shadows will release in June.
Alongside the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft released a prequel manga for the game in Japan, illustrated by Reguje. The manga, titled Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Iga no Monogatari (Tale of Iga), will release worldwide at a later date. Additionally, Ubisoft and Laced Records announced that pre-orders for vinyl sets featuring music from Assassin’s Creed Shadows have gone live. Three albums will be available separately and a limited edition boxset combining all of the albums will release for $98.
Recently, Final Weapon had the chance to review Shadows and interview one half of the duo behind the game’s soundtrack: The Flight. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Store. PEGI recently rated a Nintendo Switch 2 version.
