Nintendo Sends Out Emails for Switch 2 Purchase Invitations and Queue Notices

The first wave of invitations have been sent.

    Published:

Nintendo has begun to send out emails for Nintendo Switch 2 purchase invitations from the My Nintendo Store, along with notices for those still in the queue to receive an invitation. It’s worth noting that users who receive Nintendo Switch 2 purchase invitations have 72 hours to make a purchase from the My Nintendo Store, and launch-day delivery is not guaranteed.

Here’s the notice that was send out by Nintendo to those still in the queue for Nintendo Switch 2:

On behalf of the My Nintendo Store team, thank you for registering your interest to purchase the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system from Nintendo.

We wanted to let you know that you’re still in the queue to purchase, and to share with you a handful of updates on what to expect.

    What happens now

There’s nothing you need to do right now.

The first invitations to purchase through the My Nintendo Store have begun going out. Invitations will continue to go out periodically until all eligible registrants receive an opportunity to purchase (as they become available). Due to a high number of registrations, we can’t provide exact timing on when you can expect to receive your invitation.

When it’s your turn, we’ll send you an email inviting you to shop.

If you pre-order or purchase Nintendo Switch 2 from a retailer and later receive an invitation to purchase Nintendo Switch 2 from My Nintendo Store, you are not required to purchase the system from My Nintendo Store.

    When to expect your invitation

We do have a lot of registrations and apologize that we can’t provide exact timing. Rest assured that we’ll continue sending invitations past the system’s launch date.

    How to spot your invitation

The invitation will come from [email protected].

Please be sure to add this email address to your safe sender list and check your inbox’s Junk, Spam, or Promotions folder. The invitation email will be from “Nintendo.”

The subject line will include “It’s your time to purchase” as well as your choice of system you selected when registering.

One thing to note: Once you receive the invitation email, you’ll have 72 hours to complete your purchase from when you receive the email, so be ready to act quickly!

Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle will be available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 at Best Buy, Walmart and Target went live on April 24 and quickly sold out within just a few hours. However, Nintendo and other retailers will periodically replenish stock leading into launch. Other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will also be available.
