The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy director Kazutaka Kodaka would like an anime adaptation of the game if it continues to sell well. It’s unclear whether the anime would follow the events of the game or adapt a new original story, but Kodaka would like even more players to enjoy The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy first.
Kodaka previously confirmed that The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is selling well on Nintendo Switch and PC thanks to word of mouth. This is a great sign, as Kodaka and Too Kyo Games were banking on The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy to become a success to avoid potential bankruptcy.
Currently, there are no plans for a port of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy to PlayStation 5 or other platforms. According to Kodaka, there were constraints in manpower and funding for the game, and ports to other platforms would be costly. Instead, the team aims to allocate resources toward adding more languages to The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and enhancing gameplay features.
Nintendo Switch and PC players can already try out The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy in a free demo. The demo covers the game’s prologue up to “the 7th day out of 100 days.” Save data transfers over to the full game, which is available now for $59.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available for $69.99, and a physical Limited Edition is available for $99.99.
Lastly, Final Weapon reviewed The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and gave it a 4 out of 5 score. Our review praises the RPG’s intriguing cast of characters, easy pick-up and play combat system, and compelling elements reminiscent of Kodaka’s Danganronpa franchise.
