Sega Sammy released the company’s Q4 financial results for the fiscal year ended March 2025, confirming the Like a Dragon series sold 1.39 million copies between January and the end of March. As a result, the Like a Dragon series sold 3.91 million copies in the fiscal year ended March 2025, which included the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
Fans can also look forward to Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut for Nintendo Switch 2, which includes new never-before-seen story cutscenes. A new “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode will be available with 60 unlockable and playable characters. In this new mode, players can join their friends and take out hordes of enemies. Moreover, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut runs at 4K 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2, and it will be available alongside the new console on June 5.
The latest game in the series is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which takes place six months after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and focuses on Goro Majima. Waking up on an island without his memories, Majima is saved by a young boy named Noah Rich. After coming to his senses, Majima sets out on an adventure in the Hawaiian waters with Noah to reclaim his memories and uncover treasure. Moreover, the game explores the aftermath of Infinite Wealth, including clean-up at Nele Island.
Before launch, Final Weapon reviewed Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and gave it a 4 out of 5 score. The review notes that it’s a great action game that finally lets players back into the boots of Goro Majima.
