Capcom released a new trailer for Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny to introduce the game’s various new features. One of these features is the all-new “Hell” mode, which was also added to Onimusha: Warlords.
Hell mode is a new difficulty where a single hit means instant death. This mode isn’t for the faint of heart, as it’s bound to bring frustration for those who aren’t perfecting the game’s mechanics. In addition, the game includes the option to select Easy mode from the start, so players who want to enjoy the story first and foremost may do so. There’s also auto-saves, skippable cutscenes, multiple aspect ratios, and an extensive in-game gallery mode, and more.
Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny will release on May 23 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Players who pre-order the game or purchase the Onimusha 1+2 Pack bundle early will receive the “Onimusha 2: Orchestra Album Selection Pack,” featuring orchestral music tracks and helpful in-game items. Additionally, players with save data from the 2019 remaster of Onimusha: Warlords can also unlock a special outfit for Jubei inspired by Samanosuke, the protagonist from the original game.
Lastly, here’s an overview of the game, via Capcom:
Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny was originally released in 2002 and has become the best-selling entry in the Onimusha series. The story follows a new hero, master swordsman Jubei Yagyu, who sets out on a quest to defeat Nobunaga Oda and his army of demons. Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny features a range of new game mechanics, including an affinity system with Jubei’s allies and branching narrative paths.
