    Published:

The official Twitter/X account for the Fallout series on Prime Video has announced that production on season 2 has come to an end. The season will likely premiere in 2026.

To commemorate the end of production of Fallout season 2, the social media account released a video showcasing Walton Goggins removing his makeup as The Ghoul. Check it out below:

Fallout is one of Bethesda’s most prolific franchises. The most recent game in the series was Fallout 76, a controversial MMO-styled first-person shooter. Last week, Bethesda added a new update, called The Big Bloom, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The entry preceding it, Fallout 4, is available on all the aforementioned consoles, alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

In 2024, Bethesda released the Fallout TV series on Amazon Prime. The series’ success affected the franchise drastically, jumping up the player rate for most of the games in the series. It also received several Emmys, including Outstanding Emerging Media Program and Outstanding Music Supervision.

The cast of the series includes Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Walton Goggins as Cooper Howard/The Ghoul, Moises Arias as Norm MacClean, and Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacClean. Season 2 will also feature Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone) in an undisclosed role.

After the series’ success, Variety published an interview with one of Bethesda’s biggest (and most infamous) directors, Todd Howard. In the interview, Howard revealed that Fallout 76‘s player base has reached 20 million players as a result of the success of the Fallout TV series. According to Howard, because of the series, “Depending on the Fallout game, you’re looking at a 4-6x increase in daily players, which is beyond anything I’ve ever seen in my 30 years of doing this.”
