While traveling to Kvatch in the main story of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you might stumble upon Shetcombe Farm, which seems to have been abandoned. You will get a prompt for the quest “The Sunken One” in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and in this guide, you’ll learn how to complete this mysterious quest.

To start The Sunken One, you can head inside the residence at Shetcombe Farm and receive a prompt to investigate the matter further. However, there’s no quest marker telling you where to go, and clues aren’t really obvious in this quest. To progress further, you will need to head past the crops field where a large Troll and two Will-o-the-Wisps are lurking.

After killing the Troll and Will-o-the-Wisps, you can head to the nearby cave marker to discover Sandstone Cavern. It’s worth noting that many more Will-o-the-Wisps are lurking inside, so you should go inside with a strong enhanced blade or melee weapon and some Soul Gems as back-up resources.

Simply progress toward the end of Sandstone Cavern and you will discover the body of Slythe Seringi, who is the now-deceased owner and resident of Shetcombe Farm. Searching the body will complete The Sunken One quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Searching the body will conjure a Storm Atronach called The Sunken One to ambush you. There’s also a sack full of gold and other resources next to the body, so be sure to get those rewards after defeating The Sunken One.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available now for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
