In a market saturated with gaming chairs of all qualities and price points, there’s bound to be an outlier that comes close to perfection, and that would be the Mavix M9 Gaming Chair. After using the M9 for the past few months, I can confidently say that this gaming chair brings comfort unlike any other gaming chair I’ve experienced previously. The M9 Gaming Chair follows a similar design philosophy to some of X-Chair‘s own offerings, including the X-4, but the M9 manages to combine style with the comfort I need during long work and gaming sessions.
Like chairs from the X-Chair lineup, the M9 has some decent weight to it at around 60 lbs., but it doesn’t take long to assemble. It also comes in various stylish colorways, though I prefer the Black / Glacier light blue colorway. If you’re alone, you can expect to take 25 minutes at most to fully put the M9 together. 25 minutes may seem like a long time, but it actually goes by fairly quickly, since the M9 requires very little screws. The process is made even simpler thanks to Mavix’s video tutorials on the official website, so this is a big plus in my eyes.
The Mavix M9 Gaming Chair Brings Unparalleled Comfort to the Gaming Space
For $999, the Mavix M9 Gaming Chair brings a level of comfort that’s hard to describe. If I had one word to attempt to describe it, it would be seamless. The M9 seamlessly supports your back and lower body, thanks to the included Dynamic Lumbar Support (DVL) on the unit. DVL automatically adjusts to your body with every move, so the slightest movements in this chair don’t feel rough or flat. It’s just smooth and attuned to you.
When coupled with the extra wide 22″ memory foam seat and the leather-like M-Breeze fabric, the M9 brings balanced weight distribution without feeling like you’re sinking into a seat. The aforementioned fabric keeps lower body temperature in line, so you won’t be feeling like you’re in a hot seat. This is because the fabric helps promote fresh air circulation, keeping the seat at a cool and ambient temperature that you will certainly appreciate. After spending many long days at work with this chair, I can safely say that it doesn’t have any flaws in that department.
The extended recline technology, also known as REVOLVE, allows for a 127-degree arc angle, so you can sit back and take a good nap if you feel the need to. The adjustable backrest height means that you will have the back support you need while you’re resting as well, and you can find the perfect alignment from your lumbar to your neck, which is a key selling point of this chair. Like the other adjustable components of the chair, the included headrest can be adjusted to account for angle and height.
M9’s Adjacent Features

The M9’s features are rounded out by the frictionless FS wheels, a choice between 4D armrests and FS 360-degree rotational arms, and the ELEMAX cooling, heating, and message unit. The FS wheels work well on my tile flooring, and they’re really quiet and can lock in place for extra sturdiness to the M9. I went with the 4D armrests and I thought they were decent, but it’s certainly a dip in overall quality compared to the rest of the M9. The armrests can feel cheap at times, and the coating can lighten if there’s any sort of friction against it. I do appreciate that the armrests can be adjusted for height, depth, width, and angle, however.
Although I didn’t use ELEMAX much, I can attest to how well it complements the M9. With the press of a button for its corresponding feature, you can enable the internal fans to circulate air and cool down temperatures, turn on heating to warm up during cold nights or the winter, and enable two message modes and levels, which can remove back tension through steady pulses and vibrations of adjustable intensity. I don’t have any back problems, but it still felt great to enable the message mode and feel back muscles loosen up after a long work day. It’s also worth noting that ELEMAX can be taken off of the DVL backrest for charging purposes with the included USB cable and charging brick.
The Final Verdict on the Mavix M9 Gaming Chair
The Mavix M9 gaming chair is amazing and attractive, and as I mentioned previously, it’s close to perfection. It’s very comfortable due to its ergonomic design and premium build quality, with the exception of the aforementioned 4D armrests. The $999 MSRP is quite a premium, however, and it increases if you decide to add ELEMAX ($129) and rotational arms ($164) to your cart. There are many more options out there that will fall well below this asking price, including Mavix’s own M4 through M7 lineup of gaming chairs. As a result, I definitely recommend waiting on a sale if you’re wanting a M9 of your own.
One thing is for certain, and it’s that the M9 offers impressive comfort that could even boost your productivity. You won’t have to be worrying about a hot and sweaty seat anymore, and the DVL support means your back health is a priority. Whether you are gaming or working long hours at your desk, rest assured that you will be getting the best experience possible with this M9. The included 5-year limited warranty on the M9, as well as the 3-year warranty for the ELEMAX, give you the peace of mind as well, if you do decide on making a purchase.
