    Nintendo Switch Update 20.0.1 Fixes Error Code 2206-1015 Issue

    A quick fix for a major issue.

    Nintendo has released Nintendo Switch firmware update 20.0.1, which fixes the Error Code: 2206-1015 issue that occured after restarting the console. The issue prompted users to turn off the console by holding the power button.

    Nintendo Switch players who encountered Error Code: 2206-1015 must install update 20.0.1 by updating the console in Maintenance Mode. This can be achieved by turning the console completely off and then holding down the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons while turning on the system. Those buttons must be held down until the Maintenance Menu appears.

    The 20.0.0 update added the new Virtual Game Cards feature in preparation for the Switch 2 launch. The update also introduced GameShare with compatible software on Nintendo Switch 2, online license settings, and much more. The update also adds support for the system transfer feature from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2, which can allow players to choose an optional transfer from a dedicated service.

    Moreover, select user profile icons were changed on Nintendo Switch with the release of update 20.0.0. For example, the Donkey Kong profile icon has been changed to reflect the character’s appearance in Donkey Kong Bananza.
