CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 will use a version of DLSS. DLSS is powered by the console’s Tensor Cores from NVIDIA, and the upscaling technology is utilized in four modes in handheld and docked modes, each with performance and quality variants, in Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition.
A CD Projekt Red representative told Digital Foundry (via Eurogamer) the following, “We’re using a version of DLSS available for Nintendo Switch 2 hardware powered by Nvidia’s Tensor cores. The game utilizes DLSS in all four modes in handheld and docked, and the performance and quality variations of each.”
As previously announced, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will ship on a 64 GB game card for Nintendo Switch 2. This means players will have access to Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion from the game card itself starting at launch on June 5. The game will be available for $69.99 physically and digitally.
Additional language packs will be available in the Nintendo eShop for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which may affect the final size of the game. Moreover, CD Projekt Red confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 features gyroscope aiming, motion controls, touch screen commands, and mouse controls.
CD Projekt Red previously released both Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0. The expansion and patch completely overhauled the game’s mechanics and brought it closer to the game’s initial promise. Additionally, Netflix will be making a new anime series in collaboration with CD Projekt Red based on the Cyberpunk universe.
Lastly, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for $449.99. A bundle including Mario Kart World will be available at launch for $499.99. Pre-orders will go live on April 24 at participating retailers.
