Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Explained: Where & What Time to Pre-Order

What can you expect when pre-ordering the Nintendo Switch 2.

    Published:

Following some uncertainties involving tariffs, Nintendo has finally revealed new information regarding Nintendo Switch 2 pricing and where, when, and how to pre-order the new console. Let’s answer some burning questions with what information we have so far and try to explain how Switch 2 pre-orders will work.

Will Nintendo Switch 2 Have Pre-Orders?

Just like the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and any other console release, the Switch 2 will have pre-orders. You can expect to have the ability to place a pre-order at retailers to secure your console ahead of launch. Hopefully, Nintendo is prepared and ready for the enormous demand that this new console will have, as it has been reported that many analysts are expecting the Switch 2 to have the biggest console launch in gaming history.

Where to Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Announced, Showcase Direct Confirmed for April 2

You can expect Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, and other major retailers in the US and Canada to have their pre-order pages ready to go, with queue systems likely implemented to limit scalping and repeat buyers. Nintendo has already talked about how they are making preparations to combat scalping for launch.

When Do Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Open?

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will open on April 24 in the US, and retailers like Walmart and Target will open pre-orders as soon as midnight strikes at 12:00 a.m. EDT. Exact pre-order times may vary by retailer, however.

How Much Will Nintendo Switch 2 Cost?

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will start at $449.99 for the standard model and $499.99 for the Mario Kart World bundle in the United States. This would make this the most expensive console launch in Nintendo’s history, surpassing the price of the Wii U, which launched at $349.99. Additionally, a price of $449.99 would also make the Switch 2 more expensive than its predecessor, which launched at $299.99 for the base model and $349.99 for the OLED model.

If you’re looking to pre-order a Nintendo Switch 2, be sure to keep it right here at Final Weapon, as we’ll have more updates as soon as they happen.
