Bungie has announced that it will hold a livestream dedicated to the next Destiny 2 expansion, titled The Edge of Fate, on May 6. It will also showcase Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate and other new content coming to the game in 2025.
While the “Light and Darkness Saga” officially ended with The Final Shape, it appears that Destiny 2 will have more story content in the coming months. The livestream will air on Bungie’s social media platforms at 9 AM PDT/12 PM EDT. Check out the teaser post for the expansion below:
Bungie’s next game, Marathon, will release on September 23, 2025. Bungie initially announced the resurrection of its 90s IP in 2023. The game is described as a PvP extraction shooter similar to titles like Escape from Tarkov. Players will take control of Runners, cybernetic mercenaries, who navigate the dangerous world of Tau Ceti IV, attempt to recover loot, and try and survive to use their loot to upgrade themselves. It will be a paid title, however, it will not cost full price. Bungie will reveal more in details in the Summer.
The Steam page describes Marathon as follows:
Scavenge the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV in Bungie’s team-based FPS extraction shooter. Choose your Runner and work together in crews of three as you battle rival teams and hostile security forces for weapons and upgrades. Survive and your loot is yours to keep for future runs on Tau Ceti—or if you’re brave enough, a journey to the derelict Marathon ship that hangs above.
