Physical Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games include the original Nintendo Switch game and upgrade pack on a single game card, according to the My Nintendo UK Store.
Originally, it was implied that Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games would feature the Nintendo Switch game card and a download code for the upgrade pack. Fortunately, this is not the case, since there’s no voucher or required download.
Physical copies of Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games will have a disclaimer that reads as followed: “Includes the Nintendo Switch game and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. Upgrade pack also available separately.” The description also tells customers to visit the Nintendo Support website, which will likely undergo changes for Nintendo Switch 2’s launch.
Games that will receive Nintendo Switch 2 Editions include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack includes upgrades for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at no additional cost.
Nintendo also revealed the file sizes for some of the Nintendo Switch 2 games that will release within the first few months of the console’s launch. The console will have 256 GB of internal storage when it launches.
Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5 for $449.99, and a bundle featuring Mario Kart World will be available for $500. Pre-orders were initially set to go live on April 9, but that date has been delayed as Nintendo evaluates the potential impacts of recent tariffs in the United States.
