Nintendo has revealed the file sizes for some of the Nintendo Switch 2 games that will release within the first few months of the console’s launch. The console will have 256 GB when it releases on June 5.
The known file sizes for first-party Nintendo Switch 2 games and applications thus far include:
- Mario Kart World at 23.4 GB
- Donkey Kong Bananza at 10 GB
- Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition at 7.7 GB
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition at 5.7 GB
- Nintendo Switch Online – Nintendo Classics: GameCube at 3.5 GB
One of the factors that could contribute toward smaller file sizes for Nintendo Switch 2 games is NVIDIA DLSS technology. The console’s hardware includes Tensor Cores, which drive the AI-powered super sampling technology to boost resolution up to 4K while using lower resolution assets.
Recently, CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for $69.99 physically and digitally, and the physical edition will be available on a 64 GB game card. This means players will have access to Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion from the game card itself on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5.
Nintendo held the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation to focus on the new system. While many first-party and third-party games will cost $60 and $70, certain games such as Mario Kart World will cost $80. The console will be available on June 5 for $450, and a bundle including Mario Kart World will be available at launch for $500. Pre-orders were initially set to go live on April 9, but that date has been delayed as Nintendo evaluates the potential impacts of recent tariffs in the United States.
