Marvel and NetEase have announced that season 2 of Marvel Rivals will start on April 11. The season will add Emma Frost and Ultron, as well as new maps based on Krakoa from the comics.
Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is titled “Hellfire Gala.” It’s named after an event from the Marvel comics in which the X-Men invite heroes from around the universe to a Met Gala-esque event. When the season launches, it will add Emma Frost. The beloved X-Men will be a Vanguard (Tank). Laura Post (Kasumi from Persona 5 Royal) will voice the character. When season 2.5 starts, Ultron will be added to the game. He will be available a month and a half after Season 2 starts, likely at some point in late May/early June. However, according to a new Dev Vision video for Season 2, NetEase will start releasing characters once a month starting in Season 3. Seasons will now last for two months instead of three.
The Dev Vision also confirms that costume colors, the ability to gift costumes, and new team-up abilities will be added to Season 2. Captain America, Peni Parker, Mr. Fantastic, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Moon Knight, Rocket Raccoon, and Jeff the Land Shark will get buffs, while Doctor Strange, Adam Warlock, and Loki will get nerfs.
