    Published:

Nintendo has announced that Nintendo Switch 2 will release on June 5, 2025. Mario Kart World will release alongside the system. The console will be available to purchase for $449.99 at launch in the United States, as confirmed by Nintendo. Pre-orders will begin on April 9 in North America.

Nintendo Switch 2 is the successor to the Nintendo Switch, which originally launched on March 3, 2017. In addition to this news, Nintendo confirmed that it plans to charge $79.99 for a digital copy of Mario Kart World. It is unclear whether or not this applies to all Nintendo Switch 2 games going forward or just this one.
