Nintendo has announced that Nintendo Switch 2 will release on June 5, 2025. Mario Kart World will release alongside the system. The console will be available to purchase for $449.99 at launch in the United States, as confirmed by Nintendo. Pre-orders will begin on April 9 in North America.
Nintendo Switch 2 is the successor to the Nintendo Switch, which originally launched on March 3, 2017. The system is set to offer a wide variety of features, including backwards compatibility support for Nintendo Switch games. In recent months, Nintendo has begun making preparations for this next-generation system. This includes ending the Gold Points system, as well as stating that Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be used for Nintendo Switch 2 games.
