Nintendo has announced that GameCube games will be available for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. It will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
On June 5, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, and SoulCalibur II will be available for the service. Later, Nintendo will add Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokémon Colosseum. Nintendo recently announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will receive enhanced versions for the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. On Nintendo Switch 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will support 4K resolution, HDR, and 60 FPS.
The Nintendo Switch App (previously known as the Nintendo Switch Online App) will also receive a new service called ZELDA NOTES. This game-specific service is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of the games and helps players navigate to various locations, like that difficult-to-find shrine or hidden Korok. Additionally, it will even feature commentary from Princess Zelda herself that was not part of the original games.
Lastly, GameCube games will be available for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for $450 USD. Further, a bundle including Mario Kart World will be available at launch for $500. Pre-orders will go live on April 9.
